Overview

Pyrok 803 is our fire-retardant structural adhesive tailored specifically for projects demanding both high strength and fire safety. With an ability to bond diverse substrates from composites to wood, Pyrok 803 offers rigid bonds in a short 2-hour curing window. Recognizing the presence of isocyanates, industrial users will need to undergo specific training, prioritizing safety in all applications.

How to use

Application Temperature:
Should be between 5℃ and 30℃. Higher or lower temperatures can impact cure speed and adhesive performance.
Surface Preparation:
It's recommended to clean and abrade substrates before application. Pyrok 803 may require the use of extensive surface preparation (like abrading and priming) to ensure a strong bond.
Application:
Make sure to follow the proper instructions before using Pyrok 803 as it is a two-component adhesive. Watch the 'How-To' video in the media section below.

Faq's

Pyrok 803 can achieve strengths of up to 25 MPa. In comparison to similar products, Purok VX61 achieves strengths up to 23 MPa and Purok VX60 can achieve strengths up to 30 MPa so it is in a similar ballpark to those products.

Yes, due to the isocyanates in Pyrok 803, you will need to undertake the required training in order to use it in compliance with the REACH restrictions

No, the polyurethane chemistry does not cause Pyrok 803 to have an odour.

Pyrok 803 has a working time of 30 minutes and a handling time of 2 hours. This means that you have a maximum period of 30 minutes to put the materials in place. It also means that you will be able to put the structure in light operation after 2 hours.

Yes, its properties make it viable for both internal and external applications requiring fire resistance. The polyurethane technology is very durable and will retain its strength even in harsh conditions.
